Protesters prepare for RNC
Focus on Code Pink

1:51 minute report by KSTP's Jennifer Griswold about Code Pink's experience with police in Denver, and their preparations for the RNC in St. Paul. Includes footage of a Denver police officer hitting Code Pink protester Alicia Forest in the face with a baton, and commentary from Gena Berglund from the National Lawyers Guild.

From KSTP: "A group planning to protest at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul next week found itself at the center of a confrontation with Denver Police. Video of a protester from the group Code Pink being knocked to the ground by an officer has surfaced on YouTube. The woman was arrested and booked into jail for interference. Denver Police said they are investigating the incident. Members of Code Pink are in the Twin Cities getting ready to protest the war Sept. 1 at the State Capitol. They said they are shocked by the incident in Denver and hope things go smoother at the RNC. Trained legal observers are on hand at the Democratic National Convention this week, and will be in St. Paul next week, to make sure protesters rights are protected."
