5:20 minute report on Day 1 events. Note the completely restrained protester being pepper sprayed during the opening montage sequence and also early on in the report, where KSTP's Jennifer Griswold reports that "five officers worked to detain this one man." This kind of overkill during arrests of fully cooperating protesters was common all week.
Footage is shown of the Shepherd Road arrests of mostly concert goers heading for the Harriet Island "Take Back Labor Day" show.
This footage is incorrectly described as depicting a "sit in" by Griswold. The reason people were sitting down in this park was because police had surrounded it and ordered everyone in the park to sit down with their hands on top of their heads, which is exactly what you see happening during the footage.
KSTP reporter Chris O'Connell notes that there was "a huge contingent of National Guard standing watch around the entire security perimeter around the Xcel Energy Center."
