5 EYEWITNESS NEWS was given unprecedented access to spend the first day of the RNC with a mobile field force team from St. Paul.

From broken windows to knocked-down officers to pepper spray and tear gas – these are the indelible images from the RNC.

Albert and Bergerson first joined Division Two as they staged Monday morning at 9:30. It was the first day of the convention and the 76 St. Paul officers did not know what awaited them on the other side of the gates surrounding the Xcel Energy Center.
