3 reviews expected of Pittsburgh G-20 policing

The Pittsburgh police response to protesters of the Group of 20 economic summit will be reviewed by at least three groups.

The Citizens Police Review Board plans a public hearing Oct. 20 to gather community input on police tactics. Separately, the city's Office of Municipal Investigations , which reviews allegations of police misconduct , is reviewing YouTube videos of police interacting with demonstrators to ensure nothing improper occurred.

And Thursday, City Council President Doug Shields plans to create a G-20 Fact Finding Committee that is expected to issue a report on the police actions by May.

Nearly 200 people were arrested in demonstrations and vandalism that occurred before, during and after the summit. Some protest groups say the police response was heavy-handed.
