This website exists to provide a citizen's archive of media reports, government documents, and other resources relating to the 2008 RNC. The source material posted on this website will ultimately used to compile a truly independent, publicly available, citizen's report on what happened during the 2008 RNC.

Poster: Support the RNC Arrestees! (crimethinc.com)

We’ve just finished a new poster, as a humble effort to support those who were caught up in the repression that accompanied the Republican National Convention earlier this month. Please print these out and put them up wherever people might see them. Better yet, organize benefits to raise funds and awareness for the organizers being charged with felony “conspiracy to riot in furtherance of terrorism” and others facing serious charges.

The Ramsey County sheriff's office offered this account of the coordinated efforts of about 500 anarchists and their associates on the Republican National Convention's first day. At about the same time this was occurring, a peaceful protest with the proper permits drew about 10,000 people. Graphic by the Pioneer Press based on information from the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.

This map was found on the website of the RNC Welcoming Committee and appears to be aimed at activists as it has been annotated to highlight what could fairly be described as "street topography", therefore it is assumed that the document was produced by the RNC Welcoming Committee.

According to the RNC Welcoming Committee (RNC-WC), the pReNC 5.3 was "the second national gathering for planning radical resistance to the 2008 Republican National Convention." It took place on May 3rd, 2008 in the Twin Cities. During that meeting, participants requested the RNC-WC divide the area around the Convention Center into sectors. This map came out of that discussion and has been dated as such. The text on this page comes from the RNC-WC website.
