This past weekend, DFLers from every city, every town, every hamlet, every last Hooverville of this great state convened a grand congress. Like many a congress, it basked in much fanfare as, behind the scenes, other forces were at work.
The delegates magicked into being a plan--somewhat worthy of note--to endorse Margaret Anderson-Kelliher for Governor. At the same time, a dispatch of the RNC 8 Defense Committee was secretly hammering the final nail in the musty coffin of another run at the governorship.
Today, we declare victory, having achieved a complete shutdown of Susan Gaertner's campaign.
This we have accomplished whilst wading in the dark tide of the State and their attempts to crush us at every turn; the leisure and livelihood of our gentle comrades are ever disturbed by members of the self-appointed police force, a nuisance with no end in sight.
Yet here we stand, atop chariots that ride on. Much as a phoenix rises from its own ashes, we admit that tomorrow Gaertner may prosecute and politick anew. But know this: her reign, like all but the truest of loves, is fleeting, ephemeral.
