Twenty-year-old Christina Vana of West Bend, Wis., and 23-year-old Karen Meissner of Menomonee Falls, Wis., both apologized Tuesday.
Judge Teresa Warner gave each woman a stay of their sentence -- meaning the felony charges will be reduced to misdemeanors if the women complete their seven-year probation.
The judge also ordered each woman to do eight hours of community service every month for the next two years, for a total of 192 hours.
Both women currently live in Minnesota. The complaint says the sign nearly hit a police officer in town to provide security for the convention.
