Bradley N. Crowder, 24, of Austin, Texas, was sentenced by Ramsey County District Judge Rosanne Nathanson to 15 months in prison. Another charge of aiding and abetting second-degree assault was dismissed.
He was the last of three defendants to plead in the case. Two co-defendants, Christina Vana, 19, and Karen Meissner, 23, pleaded guilty to the assault charge in September. They will be sentenced Nov. 10. Their plea agreement calls for a maximum of 90 days in jail.
According to the complaint, the three were captured on video and in photographs carrying and throwing the sign. It landed about 3 feet from a police officer on duty under the bridge.
Crowder also pleaded guilty in January to a federal charge and was sentenced in May by U.S. District Judge Michael J. Davis for his role in a plot to make Molotov cocktails to disrupt the convention. Monday's sentence will run concurrently with his two-year federal sentence.
